The new 50,000sf Career and Technical Education Center for Spearfish High School provides advanced educational space for a variety of elective studies including automotive, welding, woodworking, building trades, business, medical science and family and consumer science (FACS). The building was also designed with future growth space for potential future classes such as robotics or aviation. 3Peak Architecture worked closely with current faculty and other industry experts to craft the structure and spaces to allow for growth and development of each of these educational offerings. The building design utilized pre-cast, insulated concrete panels, polished concrete floors, exposed concrete block, wood accent ceilings and exposed structural steel as finish materials but also expression of some of the educational construction techniques that may be taught in it's spaces.
